Common Tree Snake

Melaleuca forest - Whitsundays Queensland
It's still a young snake about 40cm long, which is about half the length of an adult. They are non-venomous, have only small teeth and no fangs. This snake was just found by our guide (as we went on an eco tour into the estuaries of the Whitsundays) and being handled by a few curious onlookers in our group.

Mud Bath

Procepine River, Queensland
These estuarine crocodiles are abundant, basking in the sun along the river banks to warm themselves during the cool winter. Some are weary of our approach, but others like this one is quite oblivious. We still kept our distance.
