Ayers Rock - Uluru

Known also by its Aboriginal name 'Uluru' it is a sacred part of Aboriginal creation mythology, or dreamtime - ie, reality being a dream. Located in central Australia, in the Northern Territory, in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Uluru is a large sandstone formation reaching more than 318m high and 8km around. It is the world's largest monolith and Australia's most famous natural landmark.
